| tips for an aspiring makeup artist/kit needs? |

a couple months ago i started seriously building my kit and doing some freelance work. i am not charging at the moment because i want to build a strong port first. when do you think it is appropriate to set a rate?

1.What is your name/What would you like us to call you? Kristen
2. How old are you? 24
3. What makeup experience do you have, if any? I have a certification in beauty makeup, creative, fashion & media, HD makeup, and I'm taking Special FX starting in a few days!! Sooo excited to try all that gory stuff.
4. What is your makeup style on a normal day? I do lots of semi bright and heavy stuff on my eyes. I always wear lip gloss. My face really isn't all that exciting lol so I like to use colors that stand out a little.
5. What is/are your favorite brand(s) of makeup? Makeup Forever, Smashbox, MAC, & Loreal True Match Foundation <--obsessed with that stuff. To be honest - I'm still trying to build a kit because I'm so broke that I haven't been able to afford the best stuff...so I have a few items from each brand, plus others, and so far these are my favorites.
6. Who inspires you with their makeup in this community? leprosy___ of course! chapter___four & udklit. they're amazing!
7. Where do you get your inspiration from? everywhere...different flowers, fabrics, lol and browsing modelmayhem.com. There are some incredibly talented people who post things on there that I would never dream of. But they make me want to be just as creative!
8. Why should you be accepted/What can you bring to the community? I work on a lot of photoshoots and fashion shows so I'll always have fun pictures to post. :)
9. Who is your favorite professional makeup artist and why? Kevyn Aucoin. The way he can transform people is just insane. Also, there is an artist on youtube named pixiwoo I think, and she's fantastic. I also love Kim Kardashian's makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic. His foundation and highlighting and countouring methods are unreal.

i just wanted to wish everyone a happy new years eve! be safe! BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY post pictures of your party makeup! haha. i will probably do a new years makeup look but will most likely be snowed in by the time parties are going on which im really sad about. I used to do this look all the time, but haven't in quite a while. For one thing, with brighter colored hair, it's a bit too 'clowny' for me. Plus, I used to do it with reds & blues mostly.
